A lot of things are evolving fast, from the trade war to business relationships, not to mention Artificial intelligence. I would like to write what I think but I will refrain myself from doing so... I will only add that when you start a war, you should always think about your exit strategy and I believe this is not clear for anyone, hence, the potential risks !
Reading may enlighten us as to how to react...
In the UK, Labour and their new Prime Minister is Keir Starmer are trying to help in the negociations between Ukraine and Russia.
And well, you have guessed, I am talking about other countries not to talk about France ...
On a lighter note, I recently explored the South West of England, on the footsteps of Jane Austen and the Jurassic Coast. It was invigorating and inspiring . While there, I rediscovered Ian Mc Ewan with the tragic Love story Chesil Beach. Captivating and thrilling and a great way to explore Dorset with your imagination, while thinking about love stories
Reading suggestions :
If you want to revisit our historical past revisited by a great novelist, Ken Follett is there for you ! The problem is that other novels seem less interesting... The Armour Of Light and The Third Twin are less well-known but nonetheless thrilling. In any case, all of his novels are, to me, a great experience for readers and an easy way to escape from our grim routine ! If you ask me, many leaders should explore historical novels more and revize their history lessons !
Another suggestion but quite different : during a recent visit in England I discovered Hamnet, an interesting novel by Maggie O' Farrel about Hamnet, Shakespeare's dead son. In 2020, the book won the Women's Prize for Fiction and National Book Critics Circle Award for Fiction. It is quite original and plunges you in a fascinating atmosphere.
Meanwhile, we need to keep our thoughts for all those people suffering from war, especially in Ukraine , but also for all the women persecuted around the world, in particular in Iran and Afghanistan.
